Takapuna Beach Cafe

If you like gelato, then you must go to the Takapuna Beach Cafe. 

Basically, I like anything with peanut butter so when I saw the peanut butter gelato, I was sold.  The flavour was amazing and there were little chunks of dark chocolate in it.  Yummy!

I also tried their chocolate gelato, it's really dense and smooth but not overpoweringly sweet.

The cafe has a very nice view of the Rangitoto Island.  The food, coffee and menu was pretty good and they serve carbonated water which was pretty fancy.

I really wanted to try their breakfast menu but I was there a bit late, however, their lunch menu didn't disappoint me.  I would definitely go there again to try their brunch menu.

Santos Cafe

Santos in Ponsonby used to be my favourite cafe.  Over the past few years, I think their standards have really dropped.

They do pretty decent eggs benedict and the hollandaise sauce was pretty good.  I really liked the pesto that came with it and the turkish bread was light and fluffy - very yummy.

Although this used to be my favourite cafe back in uni days, there are a lot of new and exciting cafes around Ponsonby now so I don't think I will be back in a hurry.
